two actions

act 1

mad to one another
for no reason
on our ends of the bed, the fan hums.
our toes touch, apart,
and touch again.
and then we wake up in each others' arms

act 2

at a stop sign
stalling
you laugh in the backseat
as I stall for a fifth time
not realizing I am in the wrong gear
on the sidewalk a teenager
is waving at cars
to go around me.
I smile as my heart beats louder.
